Teresa Rossi

Role: Born in Reggio Emilia on 6th March 1988. I graduated in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Turin in 2012, with a research focused on the discovery of new molecular predictors of Cetuximab resistance in RAS and RAF wild-type colorectal cancer patients.

Since 2013, I am a fellow researcher at the ASMN Research Hospital in Reggio Emilia, where I started working in the Cancer Biology and Functional Genomics Unit of the Translational Research Lab with a research focused on the effects of natural compounds on angiogenesis and tumorigenesis. I am enrolled in a PhD program in Biotechnology, Bioscience and Surgical Technology at the University of Insubria (VA).

Currently my project focused on the characterization of long non coding-RNA associated to RUNX2, a transcription factor involved in thyroid cancer development and progression. My scientific interest is the study of genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying lncRNAs. I aim to improve the knowledge about how the regulatory regions are relevant in cancer and to characterize their mechanism of action in order to correlate them with cancer progression.
