Research Biobank

Biobanks are not for profit infrastructures for the  collection of biological samples and associated data, systematically organized for use by stakeholders, such as researchers and health care providers.
Research-focused biobanks comprise collections of human tissue linked with genetic, genealogical, health and other information, which can be used for a number of research purposes. They are seen to accelerate the research effort because researchers do not have to expend valuable time and funds on the collection, storage and curation of human tissue samples and data

Since July 2017, a research biobank has been established at ASMN-IRCCS. It stores biological tissues which are left over after the diagnostic path.
Samples are anonimously codified and personal and sensible data are protected against unauthorized access.
Samples can be stored and used in ethically approved research projects only upon informed consent signing.
