Valentina Fragliasso

Role: Born in Cercola (NA) on March 14th, 1985. I graduated in Medicine Biotechnology at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2008. During my thesis project, I spent three months at Thomas Jefferson University (USA) to evaluate the cross-talk between C/EBPα and c-MYC in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In 2012, I obtained my PhD in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia focusing my researches on the role of C/EBPα mutants in granulocyte differentiation in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. After my PhD, I joined the Translational Research Laboratory at the ASMN Research Hospital in Reggio Emilia and I started working on molecular mechanisms involved in lymphomagenesis. In 2015, I joined the Laboratory of Dr. Giorgio Inghirami at Weill Cornell University, NY (USA).

I focused my research activity on i)the discovery of long non coding RNA in Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma and ii)the role of STAT3 activating mutations in T helper17 differentiation. During this year, I collaborated with Dr. Olivier Elemento's Laboratory and Dr. Ari Melnick's Laboratory. From 2012 to 2015 I was awarded the post-doctoral research fellowship from GrADE onlus Foundation to pursue my studies on molecular mechanisms involved in lymphomagenesis.

Currently, in collaboration with Dr. Giorgio Inghirami and Hematology Unit at ASMN Research Hospital, my research activity is focused on the characterization long non coding RNAs associated JAK/STAT and ALK signaling pathway in Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. My main aim is to identify a set of long non coding RNAs as disease biomarkers able to predict clinical responses and outcome in Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma.
