Colorectal Screening

This is a test that enables us to determine whether the stools contain blood, even though it may not be visible to the naked eye.

It is a very simple test to be performed at home, through a single stool sample. No special diet is required. The screening test is free. You do not need a referral from your GP. Just bring the invitation letter.

  • Where do you go to collect the container for performing the test?

If the test is negative (you do NOT have occult blood in your stool) a letter will be sent to your home address.

If the test is positive (you have occult blood in your stool)  you will receive a phone call to arrange a more detailed intestinal test (colonoscopy).
