Martina Bigliardi

I graduated in Molecular and Medical Biotechnology at the University of Verona in October 2023, with a thesis centered on the use of intestinal organoids as ex vivo models for personalized medicine in cystic fibrosis patients.
Since January 2024, I have been awarded a research fellowship within the project "Fatty acid metabolism in HER2-positive breast cancer patients and response to targeted therapy" at the Microenvironment and Biomarkers in Solid Tumors Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan. In this context, I have gained experience in cancer research, primarily focusing on the study of resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies in HER2-positive tumors. Moreover, I have developed skills in the generation and characterization of primary 2D and 3D cellular models, which are essential tools for preclinical research and translational medicine.
As of June 2025, I have been part of the Translational Research Laboratory at the AUSL-IRCCS of Reggio Emilia as a junior fellow. My current research aims at reprogramming the transcriptional network of natural killer cells to enhance antitumor immunity in triple-negative breast cancer.
