Valentina Fragliasso
I graduated in Medicine Biotechnology at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2008. During my thesis project, I spent three months at Thomas Jefferson University, PA (USA) to evaluate the cross-talk between transcriptional factors C/EBPα and c-MYC in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In 2012, I obtained my PhD in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia focusing my researches on the role of C/EBPα mutants in granulocyte differentiation in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
After my PhD, I joined the Translational Research Laboratory at AUSL-IRCCS di Reggio Emilia where I was awarded from GrADE onlus Foundation to pursue my studies on molecular mechanisms involved in lymphomagenesis.
In 2015, I joined the Laboratory of Dr. Giorgio Inghirami at Weill Cornell University, NY (USA) where, in collaboration with Dr. Olivier Elemento's group, I discovered the novel long non-coding RNA BlackMamba in Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphomas. During this year, I also studied the role of STAT3 in T-helper 17 differentiation.
Since 2016, I am a Senior PostDoc Researcher at the Laboratory of Translational Laboratory at AUSL-IRCCS of Reggio Emilia where my research activity is mainly focused on i) the characterization of novel long non-coding RNAs as biomarker to improve T-cell lymphomas stratification and on ii) the role of DNA helicase HELLS in genome stability of T cell Lymphomas. These studies have been financially supported by Italian Minister of Health (2019-2022), Institutional funding (5x1000-2020), Fondazione AIACE (2022) and are performed in collaboration with the Hematology Department and the Pathology Unit.
