Giusy Iorio
I graduated in Anthropology, Religions, and Eastern Civilizations, I obtained my Master's degree in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Bologna in 2021, with a thesis on the experience of oncological patients and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. My research focuses on the anthropology of the body and illness, anthropology of food, and education. I explore the use of visual tools, both photographic and cinematic, as a communicative language in the service of scientific dissemination. I have managed and co-produced participatory initiatives and implemented action research projects on social innovation, humanization of care, and community building. I collaborate with a group of researchers and healthcare professionals from the palliative care network in Bologna to study the knowledge, opinions, and experiences of healthcare professionals regarding shared care planning.
