Molecular Oncology
The Molecular Oncology Unit (UNIT I) is the largest unit of the laboratory. The projects of this Unit focus on three main types of cancer (thyroid cancer, breast cancer and malignant pleural mesothelioma) through multidimensional approaches covering both basic and translational topics.
Particular attention is given to aspects of transcription regulation as a fundamental element of phenotypic plasticity and the adaptive capacity of tumors, and as a tool for the identification of new non-genetic vulnerabilities (transcriptional dependencies). In this context, the Unit explores both mechanistic aspects linked to transcriptional dynamics and their impact on the phenotype level.
