Organization
The tRES_Lab is organized in three thematic Research Units:
- UNIT I Molecular Oncology,
- UNIT II Molecular Hematology,
- UNIT III Lung Cancer.
Besides, the lab comprises a Genomics CORE Facility that operates as transversal functional Unit across all tRES_Lab projects and as primary interface for translational studies promoted by clinicians.
The tRES_Lab operates in tight connection with the clinical departments of the IRCCS through a bi-directional (in and out) interaction, working either:
- as promoter of basic science derived proof-of-concepts that, through the interaction with the clinical departments, translate into clinical validation (OUT)
- as technical support for translational projects that raise from clinical questions in the daily practice (IN). As such, and thanks to the strong collaboration with the Pathology Unit, the AUSL-IRCCS Biobank and the provincial cancer registry, the tRES_Lab manages and analyzes large cohorts of cancer samples integrating through biostatistics approaches, molecular, morphological and clinical patients’ data.
