FIELD OF INTEREST

New molecules used as precursors for radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis of cancer and Alzheimer’s disease and related complexes with radioactive and other metals.

DESCRIPTION

A compound obtained from the reaction between a metal-chelating agent and a curcuminoid (i.e. curcumin or a derivative thereof) is described. The invention also relates to the use of such compound for preparing a complex with at least one radioactive or non-radioactive metal through a complexation reaction of the compound with said metal. The complex thus obtained is used for the diagnosis or treatment of diseases, in particular cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
